Amrityasya Putrah

Each and Everyone is UNIQUE !!

Not a new one.. perhaps the above is a sentence spoken by many friends, many parents, teachers, and sooo many others, trying to cheer up their friends, children, students, etc who are depressed due to unsuccessful attempts. But perhaps the boys are understood when you see the boys who cannot perform well in the classes giving their 100% or even more in other aspects of their life.

Recently the sports and the cultural meet at NIT Meghalaya could see the unseen efforts of the students in different aspects.. Running in the fields, courts, cheering their team mates, getting dissolved while performing a solo or group on the stage, organizing the programs, and the list continues.. "Sir yeh humko thora thora samaj mein ata, yeh hum thora bahut kar leta hain.. parai humko kuch nahin ata.. is liye thik se nahin kar pate.." and he was one of the major contributors in making his cricket team the CHAMPIONS !! Spoken with a smile on his face, the local boy is surely one of the upcoming engineers for whom technical institutes or institutions of national importance has been set up in each of the north eastern states of the country.. Feel blessed to be attached with students...

Swami Vivekananda's Quotes :

Our duty is to encourage every one in his struggle to live up to his own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.

If faith in ourselves had been more extensively taught and practiced, I am sure a very large portion of the evils and miseries that we have would have vanished.

First, believe in this world - that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves!

Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your brothers, and let them go their own way.

Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is sin, this is the only sin; to say that you are weak, or others are weak.

All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything.

Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy - by one, or more, or all of these - and be free

Enemies to Growth, Happiness, Bliss

Have something to note down from the lectures on the Spiritual Heritage of India last Wednesday at Gargi Auditorium. The lectures are a series of lectures held every Wednesday. Revered monks from Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda University and Advaita Ashram have come and are coming every Wednesday unless there is institutional holiday or semester break or semester exam. Swami Suddhidananda from the Adwaita Ashram  came last Wednesday. He has been delivering Sankaracharya's teachings through Bhaja Govindam.

RFE kgp get-together on June 2011

Today  Rakshabandhan for Educations 2nd get together ceremony was held at Kharagpur. Only five of them out of fifteen invited from previous students could be present in the programme. Absence of others was not understandable. Some reported of their illness, some said that their college results were out, so they had to go to colleges and some reported of their personal work. Though in small numbers the students present (altogether eight including the present ones) enjoyed their interactions with three eminent professors, Prof Swapna Banerjee, Prof Nishit Ranjan Mandal and Prof Gautam Saha. It is always a blessing to interact with persons who have established themselves as gods and goddesses in their place of work. Their devotion, their experience are sure to do only good if faith and belief both are considered. The short time in which I was present while Prof Banerjee was having an interaction with the students brought into my notice one thing .. she was repeatedly asking the students to read, read and read. Whatever you are doing, where ever you are get something in your hand and read.. may it be a story book or an article or a newspaper.. anything..
