Enemies to Growth, Happiness, Bliss

Have something to note down from the lectures on the Spiritual Heritage of India last Wednesday at Gargi Auditorium. The lectures are a series of lectures held every Wednesday. Revered monks from Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda University and Advaita Ashram have come and are coming every Wednesday unless there is institutional holiday or semester break or semester exam. Swami Suddhidananda from the Adwaita Ashram  came last Wednesday. He has been delivering Sankaracharya's teachings through Bhaja Govindam.

RFE kgp get-together on June 2011

Today  Rakshabandhan for Educations 2nd get together ceremony was held at Kharagpur. Only five of them out of fifteen invited from previous students could be present in the programme. Absence of others was not understandable. Some reported of their illness, some said that their college results were out, so they had to go to colleges and some reported of their personal work. Though in small numbers the students present (altogether eight including the present ones) enjoyed their interactions with three eminent professors, Prof Swapna Banerjee, Prof Nishit Ranjan Mandal and Prof Gautam Saha. It is always a blessing to interact with persons who have established themselves as gods and goddesses in their place of work. Their devotion, their experience are sure to do only good if faith and belief both are considered. The short time in which I was present while Prof Banerjee was having an interaction with the students brought into my notice one thing .. she was repeatedly asking the students to read, read and read. Whatever you are doing, where ever you are get something in your hand and read.. may it be a story book or an article or a newspaper.. anything..
